Stunning Rene Boschmans for Coceram cubist style figural ceramic plaque, wall tile depicting industrial, working, and sports scenes, set of three pieces. Cubist design on shiny glazed ceramic tile with industrial and masonic symbolism.
The first tile features a man straddling a cityscape and a farm field holding a red flag with a raised masonic symbol.
These stunning Rene Boschmans for Coceram cubist-style figural ceramic plaques or wall tiles depict industrial, working, and sports scenes. The trio of artworks boasts a cubist design on shiny glazed ceramic with industrial and masonic symbolism.
The first tile features a man straddling a cityscape and a farm field, holding a red flag with a raised masonic symbol.
The second tile features a group of three men: two dancing and the third playing the accordion, a French icon.
The third tile features three men, two boxing fighters, and the referee.
All three tiles have molded R. Boschmans's signature on the side. They also have a Coceram marking on the underside and a Masonic printed mark.
The three pieces are in good condition. One plaque's side has a minor miss of glaze-coating from the making process, but there is no chip or crack.

Tile 1: 10.44 in wide (26.5 cm) x 10.44 in high (26.5 cm).
Tile 2: 10.63 in wide (27 cm) x 10.63 in high (27 cm).
Tile 3: 10.82 in wide (27.5 cm) x 10.82 in high (27.5 cm).

Note: The Belgian company Faïencerie Coceram was established in 1947 and closed in 1960.
Rene Boschmans (1913-1996) was a Belgian artist who worked with Coceram. He is known for monuments celebrating socialist reform, including the 1959 Arthur Vanderpoort monument outside the Royal Athenaeum in Sint-Michiels, Belgium, near Bruges. This monument honors the man who enacted school reform.
