One legendary model was a voluptuous Louis XIV style dining table, which could be ordered with two or three pedestals and in myriad finishes. Irwin and Lane’s double-pedestal example, which features its original mirrored-glass top, was made in the 1960s in Argentina, where Jansen maintained an active office in Buenos Aires. (Other satellite offices were located in Cairo, Manhattan, Havana, and points beyond.) The table is documented in two magisterial books about Jansen, both written by design scholar and museum curator James Archer Abbott, and variations graced the dining rooms of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor (Paris) and Jayne and Charles Wrightsman (New York City).
