The black and white color palette is used to great effect in this modern abstract painting titled Provence. In this painting there are deep blacks and vivid whites while using shades of grey to create subtle variations in tone and texture. The black areas of the painting are solid and opaque, while the white areas are more translucent and textured, creating a sense of depth and movement within the piece. I was inspired by the French city of Provence with its aroma of lavender fields and beautiful landscape.
The sides of the canvas are painted white and it is wired and ready to hang. There is a semi gloss archival varnish added for luster and protection.
