Conversation becomes much more special when you can serve your special tea and crumpets on this spectacular ebonized English table. The papier (paper) mache top is decorated with parcel gilt, abalone and mother of pearl inlaid and a hand painted scene of a castle and boat by the sea. The tripod, weighted base is scalloped with gold hand decorations, as is the turned column. The top is scalloped with parcel gilt and foliage border. In excellent condition with period wear and patina, consistent with age and use. The mechanism works smoothly. There is a painted repair where the column meets the base. Has no serous damage.
