Born in the United States in the mid-19th century, most likely the Mid-Atlantic region, probably rural Pennsylvania, featuring primitive hand-crafted very heavy solid wood construction, having a monumental tall narrow rectangular wooden case with two pairs of panelled cabinet doors, opening to shelved interior, with a plank boarded back and the original heavily worn paint finish. circa 1840-1860

Simple form, clean lines, massive size and proportions, and heavily weathered chippy paint patina make this a fascinating and functional statement piece!
