A beautiful vintage circa 1926 heavy silver plated platter cover from the historic The Beekman building in New York City! Built in 1925-1927 at 575 Park Ave., this dome would’ve been from the very first silver order. The Beekman still stands but has been converted from an apartment hotel to a co-op building, The Beekman is one of the most prestigious white glove cooperative apartments on Park Avenue.
In excellent condition, no dents or damage, just lots of light surface scratches and small bumps to the top. It has polished up beautifully with only small spots of wear on the top. Marked on the front with the hotel crest, marked on the base as made by Gorham for The Beekman in 1926.
Measures approximately 11 inches long by 7 inches wide, this dome was made to fit a 12 inch oval platter.
