A stunning period Louis XVI (1774-1793) French commode in the original paint finish.
Hand-crafted in France in the 18th century, exceptionally executed in refined luxurious Neoclassical Louis XVI taste, having a rectangular white marble top over conforming solid oak wood case with canted corners in beautifully aged heavily distressed polychrome painted finish. Fitted with six dovetailed drawers, rising on turned toupie feet in the front and block feet in the rear. circa 1880s

Great shape overall, especially considering it's nearly 240 years old. Highly desirable original unrestored antique condition.
Strong, sturdy, stable, structurally sound, with beautifully aged heavily distressed warm rustic patina. Wear consistent with age and use, including chippy paint finish losses throughout, numerous holes drilled into the marble top, locks removed.
Overall a superb example, that presents wonderfully, delivered cleaned, waxed, ready for immediate use and generational enjoyment!
