Carlos Catasse who was widely celebrated during his lifetime in South America and Europe, painted vibrant and colorful depictions of nature. Catasse’s compositions, approached through a kaleidoscope of different traditions, reveal a range of artistic influences and experiments in style. In his paintings of trees, for example, Catasse employed an array of colors and solid, two-dimensional forms that resemble stained glass.
