PALM BEACH ESTATE FIND!! Monumental Studio Art Pottery vase by Jamie Davis, circa 1980s. It measures a whopping 15” tall and approximately 7” at its widest midsection with a 10” opening. Has a funky, Postmodern Memphis Milano era vibe! It is made of Raku fired black clay with an energetic & joyous glaze which looks almost like abstract butterflies and a flower. Also has an unusual textural detail near the base. Impressed JD mark on base. Condition appears excellent with no damage I can see. Please ask any and all questions prior to offer or purchase.
Ceramicist Jamie Davis was born in Philadelphia in 1945. He earned a BA from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, in 1967, an MA from Exeter College, England, in 1971, and an MFA from Clemson University, South Carolina, in 1973. His work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C., and in many major museums, galleries and private collections.
We apologize for the high cost of shipping but all carriers have raised their rates exorbitantly and we will need to box and ship this safely.
