Virginia Hoffman is well known for her contemporary work in architectural leaded and etched glass projects. Inspired by the contemporary art movement and industrial design of the 1950s, Hoffman began working with stained glass in 1980 after graduating from the Ringling School of Art with a degree in Graphic Design. She started designing traditional stained glass windows for churches, but in 1981 she was introduced to the International Architectural Glass movement in Germany. This movement, inspired by the reconstruction of European churches after World War II, used a more modern style of stained glass that did not include any pictorial elements.

Hoffman, who currently owns and maintains an active studio in Sarasota Florida is a multidisciplinary artist with acknowledged mastery across mediums, each in its distinctive style. She designs and fabricates unique modern and contemporary sculptures for private, public art projects and corporate clients. Virginia offers a broad approach to her craft, considering the environment and purpose of her art. See less
