Each one features a different scene from Mythology or Fairy Tales
One picture obviously depicts the Ancient Greek myth of the hero Bellerophon and his winged, semi-god horse Pegasus when they defeated the Chimera monster
There is a fairly tale image with princess and a horse
Another image features a mermaid riding a seahorse, most likely the Andersen's Little Mermaid
And there is an interesting scene with a mythological Giant, gently carrying a loving couple on their horse across the sea, not sure which story that might be.
Possibly created as illustrations, all paintings are signed lower right and dated Jean Bowman' 33
Jean Eleanor Bowman (1918-1994) was an American artist well known for her equestrian sport scenes and horse portraits. After finishing her art schooling in New York City, she held her first one-woman show in 1940 at Boston’s Vose Gallery. The artist maintained regular commissions from prominent horsemen of America, Ireland, and England, including members of the Royal Family. She co-founded the American Academy of Equine Art, which is in Georgetown, Kentucky
The artist's favored subject, a beautiful, pure bred horse, (seahorse included) is present in all four paintings

The works are matching in size, with alike black wooden frames made by the same atelier
