A talented group of artists working from the turn of the 20th century era, the Moncayos were descendants of two family lines, of Hector Moncayo (1895-1984) and Emilio Moncayo (1895-1970)
Devoting their talent to portray the people of Ecuador and the beauty of the traditional landscapes, the dramatic snowcapped Andean pics, the volcanos, the ocean, the serene lakes, two generations of "Moncayo" artists created a distinctive Ecuadorian art style
The painting has been removed from the stretcher at some point, most likely for easier transportation
