This … Read more This a circa 1970's Italian Trompe L'oeil Majolica tableware set of 11 watermelon wedge plates and large matching bowl. This is an incredible set produced in Italy for Walter Hatches a mid century importer who sold unique potteries. This rare set includes plates that are hand painted and each wedge plate has a hand molded little watermelon adornment. The large bowl features a large melon and vine adornment. The bowl measures 15 inches in length and 10 inches in width and is 4-3/4 inches deep. The crescent plates measure 9 x 5 inches. The bowl is shaped like half a watermelon and plates are shaped like a watermelon slice. They are in excellent vintage condition and so fun for summer entertaining!
