Original Art - French School Painting, Oil on Board, Mid-Century Faux Matisse - 1960s. Beautifully framed in ornate mid-century with burnished gold.
This brightly colored oil painting is in the fauvist, post-impressionistic tradition. Two women prepare food. This piece has warm, bright colors and expressive bush strokes. The colors are powerful and the thickness of the paint gives it texture and impasto. The composition is of ordinary domestic life. Excellent mid-century frame with linen and burnished gold.
