Artwork realized by Giuseppe Margutti in the mid-20th Century. Oil on canvas cardboard, cm 24,5x20 Sign at the bottom to the left. Framed. Good conditions! Giuseppe Margutti was born in Palermo in 1925. The son of a well-known lawyer, he began, despite himself, to study law. After the war he will arrive in a Paris in full artistic ferment that will finally offer him the opportunity to crown his lifelong dream: to stop as a painter and conquer world fame. The painter of the Louvre is an artist who with his imagination in 1975 managed to exhibit his painting "Inspiration" at the Louvre, which depicts a piano with candles next to a painting by Monet, causing a sensation and establishing himself in the history of contemporary art . A painting by him at that time was valued at the value of 20 million Italian Lire. His painting is part of the artistic heritage of the Louvre (according to his autobiography, the painting at the age of 80 should be exhibited alongside "the immortal Monet") In Montmartre he frequents already established artists such as Picasso, but his epic begins when he portrays, unaware of his identity, the then René Coty, then President of the French Republic. from that moment the doors of the most exclusive Parisian circles opened wide. Among the artist's admirers and collectors are names such as King Houssein of Jordan, the former Queen Federica of Greece and other very high personalities. Ambreus Prize 1977, National Prize for Painting. Following the international successes obtained in London, Paris, Brussels and Basel, the painter MARGUTTI was included in the list of the "International Art Market".
