Made in Italy … Read more A Lino Sabattini (1925-2016) silver-plated modernist jug or carafe, designed in 1952 for Christofle Gallia of Paris. Made in Italy from Christofle's silver-plated Gallia metal with a contrasting handle of reddish-brown wood with two channels and beautiful grain. The pitcher measures 8.5 in. height (at spout) x 3 in. w (at rim) x 7 in. L (spout to outer handle) and is stamped with Christofle's OC Knight logo over Gallia / Prod. / Christofle / Italy. The following number is hand engraved beneath the marks: 098262331NY. Very good condition with a professionally polished exterior; some visible corrosion/silver-plate loss inside, along the bottom seam.
