The woman’s head, tiled to one side, suggests fatigue, or submission, or … some possibly some form of servitude.

In any case, the artist has created a work emotionally moving.

It’s in near-perfect condition, clearly never having been used for cigarettes, as the bowl is super-clean. There’s one tiny chip on the top; part of the knot on the top of the woman’s kerchief is gone.

This piece is probably well over 50 years old, suggested by the presence on the back of a device to hold a type of matchbook that’s been out of favor for a very long time.
