Description: Offered is a white frosted crystal half sphere bowl, features 40 assorted sparkling diamond cut colored and faceted crystal stones in plated platinum settings. Signed at the rim "Bořek Šipek - for - SWAROVKI - Selection". At the base, etched limitation number "SG 97 03723".

Measures: Bowl; 7.5 Diameter (D) x 3 Height (H) inches (in.) [19.05 D x 7.62 Height centimeters (cm)]. Outer packaging; 10.5 L x 10.5 W x 7 H in. (26.67 L x 26.67 W x H 17.78 cm).

About the piece: Bořek Šipek is best known for this design that he won the 1997 Good Design Award. This is one of the all time great Swarovski creations! He experimented with unexpected and often opulent shapes that made him the most prominent figure in glassmaking both in his country and abroad.

About the designer: Bořek Šipek was a Czech architect and designer and winner of many Good Design Awards. He became a prominent figure in glassmaking both in this country and abroad; and at the age of nineteen, he emigrated to Germany in 1968 after the Soviet invasion of then Czechoslovakia where he made a breakthrough as a designer in the 1980s.

He was renowned and celebrated for his individual, unusual, colorful, and rich style.

About the maker: Swarovski is an Austrian producer of glass based in Wattens, Austria, and has existed as a family-owned business since its founding in 1895 by Daniel Swarovski.
