19th Century Hand-Carved Round Stone Mortar ~ Jardiniere ~ Planter was carved from a solid piece of limestone in an octagonal shape, and obviously designed to last for centuries if not longer! A hollow was turned out creating a shape great for setting small potted plants and herbs. Perfect for use outside with full exposure to the weather, and guaranteed not to blow away! We found this round one at the same time as the octagonal one seen in one of the photos, still available as of this writing and sold separately.
Circa mid-1800s
