It is a matted original gouache costume fashion design drawing that dates to the 1950s. Purchased by us in Paris from a collector known for her original fashion drawing collections. It is a work by a Bordeaux couturier, Jean-Pierre Chansard. Note his signature in lower right and note the documentation showing his official professional letterhead dating to the 1950s. The drawing features a cabaret dance performer in her costume. The work is done in white, green, red and black gouache on thick colored stock with a graphic design. . Take a minute to study the details of her costume with the exquisite elaborate lace work elements in her bodice and the multi layered tiered drop flair of her dress. Note too the "feather in her hat" and her fabulous makeup. This is a sexy, elegant and fun fashion illustration! Pristine condition.
