Still life is an original modern artwork realized by Ugo Celada da Virgilio in the half of the 20th Century. Original Oil Paint on Board. Hand-signed by the artist on the lower left corner: Ugo Celada da Virgilio. Mint conditions. Exquisite refined oil on canvas depicting a still life. Ugo Celada (best-known as Ugo Celada da Virgilio) (Borgo Virgilio, 1895 - Varese, 21995) an important Italian painter. He exhibited in 1920 at the Venice Biennale and he returned three more times, in 1924, 1926 and 1936 to the Venetian Biennale. In 1926, it will be celebrated by the famous French painter and critic Émile Bernard as the greatest Italian contemporary author. He became one of the major exponents of figurative painting and precisionism, characterizing his work for a completely anomalous and personal style. He lived isolated and realized portraits for the Milanese nobility and bourgeoisie until his death. His works are kept in the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome. The municipality of Borgo Virgilio dedicated a section to it in the Virgilian Museum. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
