I’ve seen more of my fair share of French glass – and as you know, it happens to be pretty … Read more I’ve seen more of my fair share of French glass – and as you know, it happens to be pretty much at the top of the world’s heap – but this particular shade by Muller eclipses most of what I’ve seen.

Muller’s glass lighting bowls are among the detailed and striking, and this makes the rest of them pale by comparison.

It’s in fine original condition, not having suffered chips or cracks at the hands of, shall we say, someone who “took it for granted.” The glass is quite thick, which lends to its visual impact. In addition, it’s both frosted and clear, and the clear areas, cleverly chosen to accentuate the design elements, really make the design “pop.”

Take a close look at the intricacies of the design -- you’ll be amazed.

The hardware is from the same 1920s period, French, and it’s been re-plated, and has a fresh brushed nickel finish (over the solid brass of which it’s constructed). Contemporary nickel plating is far stronger than such plating was in the 20s and 30s, and this will last “forever.”

What we have here now is “jewelry for the home.”

This fixture's been totally rewired to American standards; the bowl is fitted with one standard-sized socket which can take any wattage and size bulb you care to use. If you put this lamp on a dimmer, and feather it down at night, you’ll create atmosphere like never before. This light will sparkle like a jewel!

Measurements: This fixture hangs 32 inches long; the bowl is 13 ¾ in diameter. The overall drop cannot be reduced. See less
