A well-done Vintage California Impressionist Seascape Oil Painting on canvas, depicting the famous Blackie's Boat Yard at Newport Beach marina.
This work depicts a calm seascape scene, with a small tugboat and dinghy in the foreground, and old wooden boathouses in the distance. The palette of this painting is very fine, and the colorful details subtly rendered.
Signed: "Maxine" in the lower right corner.
An annotation on the verso reads: "One of first attempts in oil painting - 1978 - Teacher Helen Thaxton. Subject is in Newport Beach Bay and was called Blackie's Boat Wks."
