What color walls go with brown furniture?

Among designers’ favorite wall colors to pair with brown furniture are shades of white. Brown furniture with white walls creates a high contrast that is similar to black and white, but less visually stark. When it comes to white paint colors to pair with your brown furniture, designer Sarah Bartholomew adores Benjamin Moore’s Simply White and designer  Leanne Ford, who is known for her nuanced neutral palette involving shades of white, black, and brown, loves White on White by PPG. If you’re looking for a pairing with a bit more vibrancy, shades of blue and gray work well with brown, as do warmer colors like yellow, rose, or peach. Because brown is a rich color itself, it tends to be best to avoid bright, super-saturated colors like red, royal blue, or kelly green. If you are looking for a deep color to pair with brown, navy with an undertone of gray can be a sophisticated option to enhance a space.
