A beautiful original manuscript gouache painting with gold leaf on paper of a harpist riding a highly detailed composite camel with fantastical animal stories. The Persian hand-writing in calligraphy style contains handwritten text on both sides and the writing of the manuscript in the back of the sheet is illustrating a story from the Islamic world.
Framed in a gold-colored frame with image size 9" x 15"H.
A Persian miniature is a small Persian painting on paper, whether a book illustration or a separate work of art intended to be kept in an album of such works called a muraqqa. The Safavid Shahs ruled in times of relative stability and maintained excellent imperial painting schools. The arts flourish in times of political stability and affluence. The social conditions necessary to support a vital system of patronage were essential for the creation of miniature paintings, particularly those of the Persian courts and the Mughal dynasty.

The Chairish Buyer Guarantee ensures that you have complete peace of mind when

- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
