One of the lower rungs has been glued. These chairs at one time were all caned. I prefer the wood seats covered with matching French ticking.. Overall, chairs are sturdy and would be comfortable with your favorite cushions. Very good condition for being together a 100+ years! I listed the size of the larger chair, the other three chairs are a bit smaller, they measure; wide 18", 17-1/4" deep and 41" tall. less
