The stand is adorned with a stylized skyline, with skyscrapers on the left and right side, like a manhattan street canyon, opening the view far upwards. The silhouette with its jagged and stepped elements can be interpreted as an hommage to new york’s chrysler building. Like no other skyscraper from the 1930s, this iconic building with its art déco façade has become the epitome of modern american architecture. Unmistakably in the style of american art déco, this unique piece has found its way back to europe from an important american private collection.
