Founded in 1931 by John Perona as a speakeasy, El Morocco became one of New York City’s most glamorous nightclubs after Prohibition. Its legendary Champagne Room was an intimate, private dining space reserved for the club’s most esteemed guests — a place where society figures, entertainers, and icons such as Joe DiMaggio, Marilyn Monroe, and Elizabeth Taylor gathered. The Champagne Room was a private and exclusive dining area for esteemed Club patrons.
