Beautiful, decorative Hibachi 火鉢, made from a tree trunk with custom-made copper lining, Meiji period, ca. 1868-1912.
Hibachi is a type of firepot originally used as a heating appliance in Japan.
Today, hibachi are original interior decoration pieces and are often used as plant stands.
Great mingei piece ( folk art ) for the collector/decorator.
