Wall- or ceiling lamp velella designer: pier giacomo castiglioni and achille castiglioni year: 1968 manufacturer: flos country: italy measurements: h 21 cm w 41 cm d 41 cm material: frosted glass, mouth-blown, 1 e 27 socket, chrome-plated brass, painted steel mounting plate, one e 27 ceramic socket condition: good original condition special remarks: few signs of wear. In good condition, the velella is fully functional. Today, led bulbs are also available in silver with a mirrored head.
another lamp by the great masters of italian industrial design pier giacomo and achille castiglioni for flos from 1968. Our example has been well looked after and comes from a non-smoking holiday facility. The frosted glass reflector illuminates wonderfully softly and fluently through the large, silver-tipped bulb, which additionally emphasizes the shape of the lamp. The light shines glare-free and the lamp basically looks like a sculpture on the wall or ceiling, even if it is not illuminated. Thanks to an ingenious system with 3 levers, after removing the bulb, the reflector can be removed from the assembly. this piece has an attribution mark,
