This vintage 7x17 Persian kilim is a mid-century gallery runner believed to hail from the Karadagh region. Handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960, Karadagh Kilims are made by nomadic weavers in the mountainous region of the same name, which is revered for its tribal rugs among connoisseurs today.
On the Design:
This Kilim enjoys a simple, soothing repeat of rich brown and pink stripes with a gorgeous natural abrash within. Keen eyes will further note charcoal undertones in the border and background as well. It’s an exemplary work among Persian flatweaves of its provenance, and its versatile size offers vast design applications, too.
Condition:
This vintage Persian Karadagah Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
