On the Design:
Handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960, its design enjoys a complementary play of stripes & tribal geometric patterns in red, green, blue, brown & off-white. It’s an exemplary piece that captures the distinctions Shahsavan rugs are known for among Persian flatweaves—a work of unusual color and whimsy alike.
