A extraordinary, large scale, very heavy mid 20th century bronze example of the iconic Roman orignal full-length portrait statue of Augustus Caesar.
Realistically cast and modeled, with exquisite touches of gilt and multi color enamel to subtly highlight the intricacies of the bust, especially the breastplate of the armor which depicts the retrieval of Crassus' standards from the Parthians, with allegorical imagery.
Raised on a marble dust composition plinth base.
