Mid-Century Modern Italian Rimini Blue Art Pottery Lidded Box by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, circa 1960’s
Bitossi Rimini blue and green striped lidded oblong ceramic box with hand incised decoration.
The surface of the vessel and lid are provided with a geometric relief pattern that is highlighted with a darker glaze and further enhanced with a random texture to create the illusion of depth.
The inside of the vessel is fully glazed. Designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi Ceramiche, Montelupo Italy. The bottom of the box is marked “1583 ITALY.” Photos do not do justice to the beauty of this piece.
ALDO LONDI (1911-2003) was one of Italy's most noted master ceramicists who spent most of his long and successful career creating exceptional works of great art and craft for the Italian ceramic’s manufacturer Bitossi Ceramiche.
This piece has been attributed based on archival documentation, such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources to Aldo Londi for Bitossi Ceramiche.
This wonderful abstract art pottery lidded box is in excellent vintage condition, with no chips or cracks.

- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
- The item will be delivered to your home and placed in the desired room. The delivery service includes unpacking, inspecting, and removing packaging materials; and does not include installation or setting up the item.

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
