This vintage 5x12 Persian kilim is believed to be a Shahsavan tribal rug—handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960.
On the Design:
This runner enjoys stripes and geometric patterns in rust, burgundy red, beige-brown, teal and white tones in its wide palette. Connoisseurs and keen eyes will admire how beautifully the colors have aged overtime, especially the crisp, bright white that complements the rich tones with a fabulous distinction. Its sharp details, unique choices and versatile size are all exemplary of a Shahsavan rug of its period and the rustic, old-world charm they embody among Persian flatweaves.
Condition:
This mid-century Persian Shahsavan Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
