Splendid coffee table by the French sculptor Daniel Chassin (1950 - ). This highly original table is made up of a real contemporary sculpture in gilded brass which forms the base or foot of the table and supports a tempered glass top with blunt corners. This sculptural group made up of books, placed in different positions and planes, surprises the viewer with the colours and textures offered by the different techniques used by the artist. Chassin uses brass, which he moulds and soldiers, polishes, gilds and patinates. The result is a light coffee table, which is also emphasised by the glass. Signed on the spine of a book, "D. Chassin 2003". As it is of course a sculpture, it can be decorated as such without the need for glass. Versatility and functionality.

Daniel Chassin (1950-) is a French sculptor who creates works in brass and bronze. Sometimes with simplified forms, sometimes with realistic forms, and sometimes with invented or abstract forms. His most common repertoire includes the human figure and animals, often giving them an aura of mystery. This artist always finds the balance between robustness and delicacy, where, according to him, "perfection resides".
