The lamps shows … Read more Origami are a stunning set of 2 lamps designed and realised in Italy in the early 80s.
The lamps shows geometrical neat forms and a sharp black colour.
The body is made of hard plastic typical from that age and the base such as the lamps shade is made of white lacquered aluminium. The bottom of the lamp shows a hole as visible in pic n°5 which permits the lamps to be hanged on a wall and used as wall lights.
The lamps shows a smart switching on and off system since the lamps turn automatically off when you close them in an angle lesser than 90 degrees. When opening the lamp shade the lamps will automatically light on.
They fit 2 x E14 light bulbs and the electrical system is composed by original ceramic details, parts that are now substituted with plastics.
This unique set comes in really good vintage conditions never mind their age.
A rare example of postmodern Italian design that will bright on your days!
