Vintage Cast Iron and Brass Fire Starter Cauldron Pot With new Pumice Wand. This piece is estimated to be made in the 1970’s. The cast iron pot was used to store Kerosene or lamp oil to light your fires and the pot would be kept near your hearth or fire pit. The pumice stone would be soaked in the fuel to light the stone under the logs. Then the soaked stone would burn long enough to catch the logs/kindling to start the fireplace and would be cooled and placed back into the pot to soak for next needed fire. The pot is solid, heavy cast iron with a beautiful hand created texture throughout. It sits on three classically shaped feet. The pot, handle, & lid are all original. The pumice wand has never been used.
