A scarce French Louis XV style nightstand with beautifully aged warm mellow patina.
Born in France in the 19th century, having a partial undulating gallery framing the visually striking brocatelle marble top with dramatic graffiti veining, above serpentine-front case decorated in floral marquetry work and matched parquetry, fitted with three dovetailed drawers, elegantly curved rounded corners, scalloped apron, rising on cabriole legs.
As warm and attractive as it is useful, having the ideal size and proportions for a variety of different uses, including as a bedside cabinet, occasional table, chair side table, drinks stand, to name just a few.
