Vintage Chinese Mother of Pearl inlaid Black Lacquer, over wood, tray. Chinoiserie trays & boxes date back to late 19th century. An all over landscape decoration on tops & sides depicting a pair of immortals dancing in the garden. All sides of the tray have inlay design. Stunning!
Small Tray - 11 x 7 x .50 high - shows pair of immortals in garden scene.
Mother-of-Pearl lines the shells of Mollusks. Oysters & Abalones are most often used in this type of ornamentation.
