Nice age-worn leather with a tooled native scene - shows an indigenous man carrying a plant, looks like a bunching of bananas, on his head while holding a machete. Islands, palm trees, and boats can be seen in the background.

A variety of symbols surround the main scene.

It's signed Maria Lopez, or Marie H Lopez with an S below name. Not an easy read.

13.5-inches in a diameter, 2.25-inches tall... on the reverse side, interior edge to edge opening is 11.5-inches in diameter.

Leather is excellent condition - no holes, tears or rips, no intrusive or distracting scratches, no repairs. Some wear to leather, but even and nicely patina'd.

There's a couple maker stamps on the back that are light and have faded.

Overall, very cool decorative piece with a lot of potential uses.
