Transport your collection to the heart of Imperial Russia with this magnificent antique brass samovar, handcrafted in the historic city of Tula. This samovar is solidly constructed from brass and boasts beautifully aged patina, two ornate side handles, a finely detailed spout, and a vented chimney cap — all characteristic of late 19th-century Russian craftsmanship. The spout remains functional, and the piece retains its dignified stature whether used for display or as a statement centerpiece. Renowned for its metalwork, Tula was the center of samovar production during the 18th and 19th centuries, and this piece is a shining example of that legacy.
On the front body, the samovar bears three distinctive oval stamps with Cyrillic inscriptions. These include:
"The manufacturer’s name (translated to “Master V.B. Batashev, Tula”),
The word “Tula” (confirming the place of origin),
The date 1875, clearly indicating the year of production."
The Batashev family was among the most esteemed samovar makers in Tula during the Imperial era, known for their quality and awards at exhibitions.
