This antique Persian Sultanabad-mahal rug features an all over Herati pattern with the coloration influenced by European designers. A Rusty red border frames an intricate, navy blue background filled with tribal motifs of blue, red, green, brown, peach, sky blue and cream colors. The traditional coloring is atypical of Sultanabad-Mahal rugs, while the juxtaposition of color palettes complements the unique patterns that were inspired by the tribal weavers.
