Frosted relief design on the stem of entwined women draped in Art Deco crowns. Erte signature incised into base. approx. 12" high. please note as shown in photos, given handcrafted nature one flute is approx 3" at base and other is 3.25". otherwise sizing is identical.

A glamorous champagne flute, titled “Flute Majestique,” after the designs of the well-known Art Deco artist Erté (Romain de Tirtoff), the grandfather of Art Deco, each bearing his etched signature. The flute is hand finished with a frosted, rich design on the stem of swirled, entwined women, their heads draped in Art Deco crowns and veils, so reminiscent of the artist’s 1920’s costume designs. A beautiful piece.

Born Romain de Tirtoff (1892–1990) in St. Petersburg, Russia, to an aristocratic family, the artist known as Erté — a pseudonym derived from the French pronunciation of his initials — was a Renaissance man of the art and design world. He worked in graphic arts, interior design, fashion, jewelry and set design for the stage and silver screen, becoming a leader of the Art Deco style. See less
