I have collected unusual pieces from travels around the world. In the 90's I owned a Fine Art Gallery in Washington, DC and while in the French Quarter in 1994 I met an artist around Jackson Square and bought several pieces that I brought back and re-sold as collectibles and oddities. While cleaning my warehouse I came across a few pieces that were boxed and decided to have them framed and updated in honor of my 28 years in the gallery and design business. Painted on small composite panels, these enamel and acrylic pieces bridge a cool folk art/surrealistic genre, each giving a glimpse into the way the saint died and achieved martyrdom. Framed under glass in dove gray wood toned modern shadowbox style frames the artist name is attributed with title, R. N. Schachter. 4" w x 6" h overall size. Hang on wall or sit on shelf or bookcase.
