A student of Jules … Read more Bronze " The Reaper ", signed on the terrace by the French sculptor Eugene-Antoine Aizelin (1821-1902). A student of Jules Ramey and Auguste Dumont, Aizelin won various awards during his career, including a gold medal at the 1889 Universal Exhibition.
"The Reaper" is a bronze subject with a brown patina representing a young man working in the fields. Clogs on his feet and dressed in a suit, this farmer looks at the horizon while leaning on his scythe.
This subject rests on a circular base with a groove in Portor marble from the Pyrenees.
Representing the manual work of the past, this bronze will please by its authenticity and its quality of realization.
