Earthenware sculpture made in the late nineteenth century in the manufacture of Sèvres, after the work of the French painter François Boucher (1703-1770), who is known to have been the first painter of King Louis XV.
"Couple de Galants" is a work, taken from Boucher's pastorals, featuring a man and a woman on a romantic date. The young girl, seated on a rock, holds doves in her arms that her suitor brings her.
The terrace, ovalized, is decorated with scrolls, volutes, a shell and a garland of roses.
This elegant earthenware will appeal to lovers of romantic works.
