God of Love in Roman mythology, Cupid is represented as a child with a youthful face and hair, a pair of wings reminiscent of the figure of the angel in the back. He carries his quiver of arrows at his waist and his bow in his left hand, instruments supposed to illustrate the points of desire that he plants in the hearts of men.
