This vintage 6x14 Persian Kilim and gallery runner is believed to be a tribal rug from Meshkin.
Handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960, this small Northwest Persian village is a long-known center of acclaim for fabulous works. This design favors traditional geometric patterns and a particularly unique range of rich and vibrant colors. Keen eyes will note especially present pink accents in the play of navy blue, burgundy, and rich brown tones it enjoys. It's an exemplary flat weave with movement, richness, and the personal nature of Persian folk art that distinguishes it to this day.
Condition:
This mid-century Northwest Persian Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
