This vintage 3x9 Persian Kilim is believed to be a tribal runner of the 1950s.
Handwoven in wool, its design plays medallion and all-over pattern style together on a bright red field. The piece further enjoys a wide range of geometric patterns in vibrant colors with a gorgeous sense of movement. Keen eyes will admire nods to pictorial motifs, such as primitivist depictions of birds and other mythical creatures therein. Such a flat weaver is an exemplary piece of Persian folk art, full of whimsy and rare charm. Its versatile narrow size, too, offers vast interior design applications today.
Condition:
This mid-century Persian Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
